GENERAL DESCRIPTION

 

The curriculum of English Education EFA is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Our teaching method is natural and direct

We embrace the functional communicative approach to teaching. We develop your conversation skills, build your confidence, and ensure your language acquisition by using as our primary tool, international educators who are first language speakers of the language you wish to learn. We provide contexts for learning that are authentic and culturally appropriate. Your access to our educators is what matters most.

 

Duration and structure of the program

This program has a total duration of 720 hours. This includes 60 hours of training at each linguistic level.

For those students who wish to specialize in English, we provide supplementary classes.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE LEVELS

BASIC USER / Level 1 to 4

Aimed at people with little knowledge of English or who have never studied the language. It seeks to establish the communicative foundations so that the student be able to understand and use common everyday expressions and use basic phrases aimed at satisfying immediate needs. Develop an understanding of simple language to discuss issues of a personal nature using common expressions and basic phrases. You can introduce yourself and others and ask and give basic personal information about your home, belongings and people you know.

The duration is 240 hours.

Independent User / Level 5 to 8

Suitable for students who have completed the basic levels. This course will cover more emphasis on communication needs where conversations require a description of personal experiences and a presentation of reasons or explanations. It will be able to understand the main points of clear whether dealing issues that are familiar. You know cope in most situations while traveling. Listening comprehension and production of simple and consistent to contribute to the communication demands working texts. Likewise, students are helped to use mechanisms that connect their ideas and sentences in order to achieve greater fluency.

The duration is 240 hours.

Proficient User / Level 9 to 12

For students who have completed the intermediate level of English. Course recommended for students who want to work the nuances and subtleties of language in both oral and written. It works with specialized materials written and oral great complexity that will give you the power to express themselves spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in complex situations. You can present information and arguments, either in spoken or written language coherent summary.

 The duration is 240 hours.

Cancellation Policy

We do not provide schedule changes or refunds for cancellations, except in the following cases:

Official three day holiday weekends (referred to as “puentes” in Spanish): EFA will contact the student and/or coordinator to organize a make-up class at the site in which classes are held

If for any reason the student cannot reschedule within the week, the session will be added to the end of the student’s term.

If the student requires a change in instructor, the adjustment is made, and a new teacher is sent. If the regular teacher is unable to meet for a regularly schedule class, an alternate instructor will attend. Instructors may be substituted without notice. In all cases, courses are monitored throughout their run time, each new teacher will arrive with a strong understanding of the student’s EFA training to date.

Students are expected to cover the cost of a coffee or water for the instructor when class is held in a café, bar or other for profit hang out.

Payment must be made 3 days prior to the first class, in order to confirm the schedule with the instructor.
