Jessica is from Hertfordshire in England. She has a BA in History and Politics from the University of Essex, and it was there that she developed her interest in Latin American culture.
She came to Mexico City in 2009 and she has been living and working here, teaching English to adults, ever since. Prior to that she worked in Japan as an English conversational coach teaching both adults and children. In regards to her teaching methods, she prefers to tailor-make her classes to accommodate the needs and requirements of every student, as she believes each individual has their own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to studying languages. She also tries to make her classes as enjoyable as possible, keeping them light-hearted, and encouraging students to express their personality.
She finds that when the students are comfortable and happy in the classroom environment, they are more likely to feel confident when speaking and more inclined to ask questions if they have any doubts about anything. She enjoys her job a lot; it is very interesting as she gets to meet a huge range of people from different backgrounds with different opinions on life, and its very satisfying watching her students developing their English language skills so as to progress professionally, personally or academically.
